1. Drink more water
If you want to help burn calories and reduce body fat as quickly as possible, than drinking more water is essential – water is the medium in which most cellular activity takes place, including the burning of body fat – so it’s essential to make sure that you are drinking enough.
In addition, water makes you feel fuller and want to eat less, yet contains zero calories, so it helps to restrict calories in this way which will help you to reduce body fat more quickly.
Aim to drink about 1 ounce of water per 2 lbs of bodyweight each day, and a good tip to to always keep a bottle of water handy at your desk all day so that you remember to drink more.
2. Consume fewer calories than you burn
If you want to burn off body fat rapidly but in a safe and controlled way, then you need to be eating about 200 less calories than you burn off each day, so you need to make sure that you have control over the number of calories that you are consuming and ensure that you hit the magic number each day.
3. Reduce starchy carbs
When trying to shed bodyfat, avoid starchy carbs such as potatoes, rice, pasta and breads, otherwise the danger is that you will consume too much energy and glycogen stores which will be stored as excess fat.
You don’t have to cut these foods out completely, but at least limit them when you are in a body fat burning phase of your training, to give you body the best possible chance of reducing body fat as much as possible.
4. Eat a decent breakfast
When you first wake up your body has been starved all night long whilst you have been sleeping, which means that it needs nutrients as quickly as possible to rebuild itself and start the day off in the right way.
So be sure to eat a full and well-balanced meal for breakfast and certainly don’t skip breakfast in order to try and reduce the amount of calories you consume during the day – this is highly counterproductive as your body will simply react in a negative way in terms of its ability to burn body fat and you’ll be making things much harder for yourself – so be sure to have a good breakfast each day as standard.
5. Don’t eat too much sugar
If you consume too many simple carbs (sugars) it will simply be stored as excess body fat if not burnt off so try and limit your intake of sugar as much as possible, and if you must consume simple carbs throughout the day then try and get them from eating fresh fruit and drinking fruit juice.
Certainly avoid sugary drinks at all costs like Coke, as these will pretty much ruin any chance you have of significantly reducing your body fat as they are packed with the kinds of levels of sugar that will destroy your hopes of shedding body fat rapidly!
